Amla (emblica officinalis), Amalaki, Indian gooseberry.  In autumn, in wet forested hilly areas of India’s subcontinent, the amla or gooseberry fruit ripens.  Sacred to India, sour in taste, sumptuous to eat.  In many countries, food good to eat is also food good for the skin. Canada is listening. I am very conscious of what feeds my skin.  We started Earth to Body 15 years ago, due to an illness that stripped me of my job and much of my life at the time. But it was also the start of a new journey.  My healing research, introduced me to the amla tree.  Fortuitously.  We now use amla in two of…
Halloween is here.  Party weekend.  Dress up.  Monday night ‘trick or treat’.  The fun begins. Whether you read this now or later in the week, whether you actually do dress up, paint your face, become someone or something on Halloween, this article applies to all of us, all year long.  All the time. We use cosmetic products on our bodies, daily.  Halloween merely requires excess.  Our concern is to avoid the toxins as much as possible.  A few years ago I wrote this poem, ‘The Trust and The Truth’.  Our customers loved it and I thought I would share it again as many of us are about to embark…
Halloween is just around the corner.  Let the fun begin.  Surveys show that for many, Halloween is a favourite time of the year and if you google why you will find the answers. We can be gluttons. We can decorate our homes for fun and inexpensively. We can let our kids talk to strangers.  Within earshot of course. We can listen to music favs like, Monster Mash, Ghostbusters’s, Thriller. We can revisit movies like Psycho, The Exorcist, The OmenWe can party without fear…by morphing into whomever we like.  Outside the box. We can win Best Costume. We can carve a pumpkin, gorge on candy and revel in…
How are your feet?   Last spring, I wrote 'Your Neem Footprint' discussing neem* and feet.  People were thinking about wearing sandals and were concerned about the condition of their feet. The calluses, the toenail fungus, the itchiness, the cracked heels.  It is time to revisit this issue.  We tend to neglect our feet, especially in the winter months when they are under cover.  Need I remind you?  Winter is here.  Start using neem throughout the winter months so that by spring your feet will be presentable and sandal worthy.   And if you never don sandals, rest assured that your shoes and…
We like to share interesting stories with you about customer encounters, testimonials, and our handmade natural skin care products. The following article refers to our famed Sheamu Butter.              "I just wanted to take some time to thank you for helping to make my feet look normal again. I had an amazing experience with your sheamu butter product that I purchased at the Marshville Heritage Festival in Wainfleet earlier this month. I work on boats so my feet are constantly wet. My heels started to crack so bad that they were starting to open up. The day that I went to the Marshville…
I guess you can say I’m hard headed, or maybe stubborn. Or perhaps this day after being at the Calgary Stampede day in day out I was just tired. Either way, in this particular case, I was just adamant that my point was going to get across no matter what. Hundreds of thousands of people come through this world-renowned exhibition. You must have thick skin to do what I do, and at this show even thicker! It was probably day 6 or 7 of the 11 day stretch. I was alone in the booth, morning shift. Just opened up and was having a nice cup of joe.  I look up to see an older gentlemen walk into my…
A while back I wrote a blog called ‘Tireless Tamanu’  which you may wish to peruse on our website. It discloses the source, the sustainability and the certification of our Tamanu Oil.  It talks about the incredible journey of the tamanu seed by the South Pacific waves, where the seed roots and how the oil is so amazing on the skin.  The article will remind you to always look for dark green, high quality, organic oil and to beware of scam versions now entering the market. I have been researching and selling Tamanu for several years now and it has become one of my favourite skin nutrients. Your…
Who wants to be in pain?  Seriously, what kind of question is that? Pain is terrible. You can take pills, baths, see doctors, but really, you just want something to work. I know I do and I will tell you I’ve had my majority of pain and I’m only 36.  Whether it’s cramps or my back or headaches.  Just get rid of it, I say. Many people have told me about their pain.  Earth to Body does not sell anything specifically for pain, but we sell products for massage.  Sometimes a gentle massage with the right oils can work wonders. I hear constantly. “I don’t want to take pills all day. Do you have…
