Parties, parades, packed pubs and much madness abound on St. Patty’s day. It is a day for the Irish to celebrate, to honour St Patrick, to wear green, be seen and be silly. It is a day to honour the famed four-leaf clover.
Have you ever sought that elusive four- leaf clover to bring you good luck?
As a little girl my friends and I used to hunt for four- leaf clovers on our front lawn. “It will bring you good luck," my dad would say. He may have added, as an historical note, that St Patrick used the four-leaf shamrock to represent the Trinity, but I was interested in the good luck part.…
Do you beat and twist the fibers to make ropes and mats?
Do you extract the wood sap to make a blue dye for fabric?
Do you treat your skin to the precious soft kernel oil?
Do you use the leaf powder as a food supplement?
However you play the tree, you will benefit.
Known to the Nigerians, as idagbo monoye, this “crazy growing tree ‘, has roots that taste like horseradish and pods that look like drumsticks. It is a tree that loves the tropics and subtropics and is known to the Pilipino as ‘mother’s best friend. African’s share that affection.
To the Thai, it can be a fence that protects…

Alors, posez-vous la question : est-ce que je sais ce que contient vraiment la pâte dentifrice commerciale ?

Contient-elle du laurylsulfate de sodium (le produit moussant à caractère cancérogène) ?
Contient-elle du…
"The Monarch butterfly unites the three countries of North America in peace.
It is an ambassador of peace which requires protected areas and ecosystems that are preserved through sustainable agricultural and forestry practices.
Let us continue to work together to maintain a healthy and balanced ecosystem for all North America." President Jimmy Carter
Our Monarchs are slowing dying and you can help save them.
Why are the monarch numbers down?
Weather extremes, record high and record lows, herbicides and GMO’s , deforestation, human needs competing with monarch needs (for food, water,…
Be 2, or 3 or 4 years old in Siberia. Have your parents take you outside and rub you down with snow.
You do not get the cold or flu.
Or live in Sweden. Have your parents pour very cold water on your head.
This is a routine. Especially during flu season.
So no flu.
Be an adult. Take the cold showers, or snow rubs, or cold lake dips alone, or with friends. Take your children with you.
In these countries, cold showers are normal.
In these countries, a cold or flu is not so normal.
Now, live here.
Canada, USA.
Where we are spoiled with hot water. Where ‘Hot’ is the norm.
We luxuriate in…
Are dandelions dancing on your lawn yet?
I just received this from the Natural Health Consultants Institute here in Montreal. Thought I ‘d like to share it with you.
"As the dandelion leaves grace our lawns this spring, why not embrace them for all the goodness they provide!
After the long, cold winter, this wonderful spring tonic can help to restore our health and vitality. Add the tiny, vitamin-rich leaves to your salads to add extra antioxidants, B vitamins, vitamin C, potassium, iron, calcium and protein.

I love to eat, as a matter-of-fact, I put a great deal of time and effort into making almost every meal a memorable (and hopefully enjoyable) experience. Cooking programs on television were probably my first introduction into what would transform a rather routine activity, into a much anticipated ritual. Living in Montreal has always allowed one to easily plan, shop and execute meals of almost any ethnic origin and bring one into somewhat foreign parts of our beautiful city to find sought after ingredients and first-hand advice and tips on how to produce authentic results.
It was…
